Flash Player Engineer Tinic Uro explains, why it is impossible to fix the broken SOUND_COMPLETE behavior in Flash Player 10. And why it even become worse in FP10 (well, it is possible to fix, but considered b@d_EnGiNeeRinG. I’m at the Tinic side here).

And generally saying, there’s no ‘cool’ solution in Astro for this problem. As Tinic said, it will be resolved in next major release, Flash Player 11.

But! In FP10 the new sound model is available. First, it allows long-awaited Dynamic Sound Generation feature. And now you can choose balance between performance and latency of sound generation in your app using a new “samplesCallback” event of the Sound object.

Phototoshop Express with its 2GB storage capacity stores my photos well (and helps me with editing them a lot).

But not only for the photos I need it, I use it even much more intensively as online graphics assets editing tool with storage included, what a joy! And the more I use Express as rapid online tool for processing my online image assets, the more features I need.

Three most wanted functions I miss badly in Photoshop Express are:

1. Text Tool
   It would be so handy to add a simple text to the photo or picture. Of course, as soon as Adobe will add Text Tool, another user will emit the new request to make Text Tool more advanced. Users always asking for more, this is the way users go
2. Pixel Brush Tool
   I suspect Adobe in preparing something new for the next release of Express. Probably we’ll get a bunch of complicated drawing stuff. But again, Simple Pixel Brush can help me a lot right now.
3. Duplicate Picture Function
   In some cases I just need a picture made from my existing one, already uploaded to Photoshop Express. Let’s say, I prepare a set of image assets which differs only by hue value. It is good to upload image once and then duplicate it, especially if you can’t get the original image you uploaded initially.

And: I completely do not need gradients, layers, styles and other Big Brother Photoshop stuff. But Text Tool is so lovely, I can proof. Just look at text labels usage in that crazy LOL Builder by ICanHasCheesburger? website. I guess they won the most recent Webby 2008 partly due to having such slick functionality of spreading the text wealth with simple tool.

Maybe this post isn’t needed at all, something makes me think Adobe will exceed my needs in the next version of Photoshop Express

As you may notice, MXNA is back on new URL.

It is interesting how sometimes we don’t care much about something essential and reliable. Coming to MXNA for fresh info or is as usual action as drinking or eating. We were growing MXNA, and we fianlly outgrew it, so then, one day, it kinda disappeared and folks around started sending anxious notifications and swear words what the hell MXNA isn’t working. Not to say everyone feel like abstinent, but pretty close to tiny anxiety.

Then it comes back updated, god save ColdFusion 8.0.1 and team. Mike, Christian, Ben, Jonathan - thank you!

Everyone becomes happy again to hear the brother’s blogs from the community and probably spread a bit of info too. The point of Adobe Community info exchange became really faster.
