What I like in Yakov Fain way of thinking is how he treat technologies. When commenting the Flex destiny in his own post called “The Rumors of Flash Player’s Death are Greatly Exaggerated“, Yakov writes:
Just don’t fall in love neither with software nor with any vendor. Adobe is a commercial enterprise as every other corporation. Their finances are not in a great shape hence they can’t afford to be nice. They are trying to survive and it’s not pretty.
I agree here. For me, it’s hard to agree absolutely because I am not just regular Flash user – I’m also a manager of the Ukrainian Flash Platfrom User Group, UAFPUG, this position adds some obligations to my way of saying. Even without being such a manager I actually love Flash and Flex. But generally Yakov is right — I should love only the ones who can love me back. Preferrably people. Technologies and companies can’t love back because they are not that alive at all.
And, yes – The Rumors of Flash Player’s Death are Greatly Exaggerated!
